Chuck Tahirali Chuck is a Senior Human Resources (HR) consultant at The Institute and is an integral member of Human Resource Legal Alliance department. Chuck also works in conjunction with the Labour and Employment lawyers at Samfiru Tumarkin LLP in providing specialized human resources advice and services to employers of every size.

Chuck possesses over 20 years of experience providing assistance to human resources management and corporate clientele with respect to labour and employee relations. His areas of expertise include employee terminations, progressive discipline, performance management, labour and employment standards legislation, collective agreement interpretation and administration, absenteeism, disability and leave management, human rights, harassment and other workplace investigations, pay equity and job evaluation, as well as conducting employee opinion and custom compensation surveys. He also has extensive experience drafting comprehensive workplace policies and employee handbooks/manuals, job offer letters, employment contracts, disciplinary and termination letters and other human resources and employment-related documentation.

Chuck holds a B.A. (Honours) degree in Psychology and a Master of Industrial Relations degree, both obtained from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. Chuck has worked for over 20 years at the Central Ontario Industrial Relations Institute ("The Institute"), which is Canada's first labour and employee relations consulting firm, established in 1943. Chuck continues to provide services to Institute members, as well as a wide range of corporate clientele.

Chuck has written extensively on a variety of HR and employment law issues. He has been quoted in all major Ontario newspapers and he has been interviewed on radio and television, including appearances on the CBC, Global and CTS television networks. He is also regularly involved in training HR professionals with regard to compliance with employment legislation and effective management of the workforce.
